UNDER FIRE!
UPDATE: Apparently this was all caused by a cleaning blowtorch. It did its job then? Millions in damage. Still sad.
Yikes! So it came to my attention today that there was a rather large blaze at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. It's not reported what started the fire, or more importantly what they were filming that caused it. I was there about three years ago on the nose, visiting the city that I will most likely be living in whenever I get my ass out of college. I really kinda fell in love with LA when I was there, which is odd. I'm really looking forward to moving out there in a few years, call me crazy. You hear abnout people falling for New York and Colorado and so forth, but not this busy, noisy, polluted, congested city. At any rate, here are a few sorta decent photos that I took during that trip of pieces of film history that were lost today, including that clock tower from Back To The Future, and the King Kong featured tour of the studio. These aren't the greatest, but I felt the urge to post them. Fuck, that's what a blog is all about. The park didn't really impress me until we went on the tour and I got to see some of the backlots. Fortunately, the studio didn't lose any irreplacable film prints, but this is still a minor tragedy. Also, for no apparent reason, myself and Fantasia Barrino on the plane back to St.Louis.
Got to go back in time-ah.
This is framed rather well.
Inapropriate! Part of the tour where a helicopter goes down in flames.
The mighty KONG. Sorta. It was dark. And I have no fucking clue whose head that is.
My dad and I, being touristy before we left.
She was a sweetie.
